In the Antilles, hurricane season tests everything at once: infrastructure, leadership, and a community left to rebuild through long blackouts and limited resources. Preparation becomes instinct. That lived reality, shaped by Taíno ancestral forecasting, anchors this project.
The Relámpago Snapback is the first signal of THE LINKS’ Guabancex collection, a measured prelude to what follows. The grey silhouette holds an overcast tension, and a shared neutrality the antilleans recognize in the hours before impact. A light blue underbrim introduces the counterpoint: calm after intensity, vulnerability, and softness. Oversized lightning embroidery cuts across the side panels with gathering force, echoing the fractures communities face when systems fall short. The Orchid emblem anchors the front panel as THE LINKS’ signature. Palette, scale, and viewing distance work together as narrative, setting the tone for the collection’s arrival.
